September Pick

Greetings!

For those of you that couldn't make it last night, we've got the pick for September!

Our host this month is Karyn Vorhees, and she chose Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. It's a bestseller, so it's not too difficult to grab at the library's 14-day checkout shelf, and Borders is still going out of business, so maybe you can get it for a steal. Otherwise, a few people have bought it, so ask around or post if you're looking to borrow.

The date is:

Friday, September 23rd

8 pm

Karyn's house- 13026 SW Ascension Dr.

Tigard, 97223

coffee and desserts will be served.

See y'all then- HAPPY READING!

sorrrrrrry!

Hey all, change of plans again. Sorry to spring this one everyone, but book club has changed. Now we're looking at:

Same place (cathy b's house, see last post)
same time
new date- Sat, Aug 13th.

Again, let us know if you can be there!
Also, please consider creating book lists so everyone has a ffew summer reading suggestions. Thanks!

Happy Reading!

The Pioneer Woman

Hey all!

We have a date for the next book club, so here it is-

Sat, July 30th
6:30 pm

@ Cathy Barber's house
22350 sw stafford rd.
tualatin, OR 97062

Special note- we've run through allllllllmost everyone (coughcoughSharonNewmancoughcough) for book club picks, so this time everyone's name goes back in the hat! PLEASE be prepared with an idea for your choice- that way, we can announce it at the drawing, I can get the post up faster, everyone can get the book, and we can meet closer to the once a month we originally intended.

Also, Tasha brought up a great idea that Stacy did once before- book lists. If you're interested, make a list of books that you've been meaning to read, books that you've heard good (or bad) things about, books that have blown your mind- whatever! It would be great to use this blog to also dialogue about the things we're reading or to ask for recommendations, or whatever. If nothing else, it can serve as inspiration for anyone that doesn't have a pick.

Can't wait to see you all- Happy Reading!

Summer Reading

Hey everyone!

I have been unforgivably late posting this- sorry! We have a book picked for next month.
Keep your eyes peeled for...

Pioneer Woman: Black Heels and Tractor wheels- A Love Story
by Ree Drummond

I've heard it's cheap on Amazon, and should be up at the library. Have fun! We're thinking end of June, but I'll keep you posted.

Happy Reading!

Change of plans...

Hey all! There's been a slight change of plans. We're going to let Courtney's house get off easy and change the venue to my (Kirsten's) place. Same time and date, but over here instead. So here's the gist:

13350 sw Village Glenn Dr.

Tigard, 97223

(Green house on the corner)

7pm- dessert and coffee will be provided.

Let us know if you'll be here- can't wait to see everyone!

Happy Reading!

Change of Plans!

*** EDIT*** Hey all! Quick announcement. For those of you that go to Colossae (quite a few of us!), we are now having a Good Friday service, so we're switching book club day (or else it'd be a sparse meeting!). New time is: Friday, Apr 29th, 7pm. Thanks so much to Courtney who made the switch so we could do both. Happy Reading!
